For three weeks beginning Monday, drivers will find some minor lane closures at Gage and Leslie in Richland.

Construction project will improve wheelchair ramps and traffic buttons

The City of Richland says each corner of the intersection will be worked on, with improvements being made to the ADA (wheelchair) ramps as well as pedestrian push buttons to improve safety.

According to the City:

"During construction, there will be no full intersection closures, but lane closures will occur depending on which corner of the intersection is being worked on. Pedestrian detour signs will be posted and maintained in accordance with the approved traffic control plan to ensure safe passage through the area."

City officials said due to what's called material lead times, the pedestrian buttons will be installed in early 2026.

The project work will begin Monday morning, October 20th.
