Because of record snow fall in the Tri-Cites in February and March Tri-City area schools had to use multiple snow days and school delays for the 2018-19 school year forcing the schools to get creative on how to make up all those missed instructional hours...Here's what student's face for the remainder of the school year.

Pasco School district just announced it's plan for make-up days as follows:

March 15 was a regular school day instead of the previously scheduled trimester break day. May 24, June 13 and June 14 will now become school days. June 14 will now be the last day of school and will be an early release day. The District will apply for a state waiver for the four remaining snow days. The schedule for graduations will remain the same.

Pasco’s school board approved the school calendar changes at their meeting on March 26. We want to thank the community for their patience and understanding as the District worked to finalize this plan.

Kennewick School District's Plan as follows:

  • The last day of school has moved to Friday, June 14. This will be a full school day.
  • Friday, May 24 will become a school day. This was previously indicated as a snow make-up day if needed on the school calendar.
  • There will be no Wednesday Early Releases for K-12 or early releases for Report Card Prep for the remainder of the school year beginning March 25, 2019. Early release for parent and student conferences will still occur.
  • Graduation dates will remain the same and NO SENIOR SATURDAYS will be needed.

Richland School District decided at the March 26 board meeting to let out June 14 using the May 24 optional day and extend past the original June 11 release day with June 12, 13 and 14 as make up days. This will not be formerly approved until April 16 but no revisions are expected.
