Search Continues for Cashmere, WA Man, Missing Since August 30th

There's a factor making this search a bit more difficult for Chelan County Deputies and search teams.

   Missing Man Last Seen in Cashmere August 30th.

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office says drones, a helicopter and a Deputy who has tracking experience have all been utilized to no avail.

57-year-old Christopher Steiner was last seen at his residence on Olalla Canyon Road near Cashmere around 8:30 PM Saturday night, August 30th.  The CCSO said he apparently left on foot, and has not been since since.

   He Left Behind One Thing That Often Helps Locate Missing Persons

Investigators said he left his cellphone behind at home, he was last seen wearing dark fleece-like pajama pants, knee-high ranch-style boots, and a faded black hooded sweatshirt with the wording “PORNSTAR" on the front.

He's described as 5' 10" 150 lbs. with bright red hair. He also has  distinctive tattoo on his left arm, a circle with an X or lines in it.

 Cellphones Can Help Track Missing Persons

Cellphones have successfully been used to trace missing persons in WA and the PNW, searchers can 'ping' the phone and even if it's turned off,  the data will pinpoint the last known location where it was on, or used--which helps narrow down search locations.

No other information was released, the CCSO did not say if he has any medical or other issues that could lead to self-harm.
