Search Finds Man Believed Drowned in Columbia Near Hermiston

Columbia Basin Dive and Rescue assisted Hermiston authorities in the search for the man, who went under water Saturday evening in the Columbia.

Umatilla Sheriff's officials say the man was at Warehouse Beach on the river, and around 6pm went in for a swim. However, he began to struggle, and witnesses said he went under and did not resurface.

Columbia Basin Dive Rescue was called into assist in the search, the man was finally found. according to YakTrinews.com

His body was found about two hours after he went under the water. His identity has not yet been released, until family is notified.
