Tuesday afternoon a 40-year-old man was riding a snowmobile near Hendricks and Sagehill Roads by Othello about 15 miles west of Connell.

Authorities say he hit something in the road and flipped off the sled landing on his back. The snowmobile then landed on top of him. He was able to push it off, but not able to move very far.

Due to icy roads and bad conditions a Lifeflight helicopter was used to transport him to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he's listed as having severe injuries. Franklin County Sheriffs say likely he has internal injuries as well.

His name was not released. He was riding the sled for work purposes, said officials. He was NOT wearing a helmet.
