The Washington State Patrol says excessive speed was a factor in the crash that killed a 23-year-old man.

Jason Cline of Kennewick was traveling in the Eastbound lanes of I-82 around 5 miles from Kennewick when he apparently lost control of his vehicle.  He overcorrected and rolled his car.

Another vehicle, driven by 71-year-old Satya Pandey of Richland, crashed into him after the rollover. Pandey was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, Cline was pronounced dead at the scene.  Officials did not say if he died in the rollover or when he was struck by the other vehicle.

They also did not indicate whether Cline was wearing a seatbelt in the 5:20am accident.
