Speeding Does in Pasco, Kennewick Hotel Robbers
Two suspects are now in the Franklin County jail, but likely facing Benton County-Kennewick charges as well after they were nailed because of...speeding!
25-year-old Francisco Morales Jr. of Pasco and 21-year-old Jorge Luis Monge of Richland were picked up around 3:10AM Monday after their car was pulled over while speeding in downtown Pasco. The officer on the stop recognized the vehicle as possibly being tied to the Pasco robbery, and poof! Suspects held for questioning.
Turns out, evidence tied them to a previous robbery at the Sleep Inn just off the Road 100 exit in Pasco that had occurred around 1AM that day. Two masked men, displaying a silver gun, held up the hotel and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers and departments share information, and Kennewick police told Pasco those guys sounded a lot like the suspects who held up the Baymont Inn in Kennewick near 27th and Highway 395 Saturday morning around 1:30AM.
After examining both crimes scenes, looking over footage, and some thorough interviews with the clerks at the hotels, officers pieced together plenty of evidence to charge the two suspects. Their car (pictured) has also been impounded for search purposes. During the vehicle search, so far, a silver handgun was recovered.
They're now facing a multitude of charges.
