Kennewick police and our news partner KNDU-TV now say the man who is accused of stabbing two people, then holding police at bay in a standoff is in custody.

47-year-old Rayfield Cole is in the Benton County jail after being treated for self-inflicted slash wounds to his wrists.

Early Tuesday morning, Cole stabbed his brother and another woman, then barricaded himself inside an apartment at North Cleveland and West Canal Drive. He was armed with two large knives, and held police at bay until he finally surrendered.

After being taken to TRIOS Southridge for treatment he was taken to jail. According to last reports, the two victims are still at Southridge. The woman reportedly in serious but stable condition, the man listed as fair.

No information as to why Cole assaulted the two, the case is of course still under investigation.
