State Grants Will Help Othello Project–72 Permanent Jobs
A large water project in Othello will be built soon, with help from grants and loans from the Washington State Department of Commerce.
The project will result in 72 permanent jobs
The Bruce Water Tower Construction Project will create a 200,000 gallon tower that will have piping looping in another 105 acres of the Bruce Industrial Park at the Port of Othello.
The project is part of Commerce's Community Economic Revitalization Board's project list. According to the CERB:
"The Port's Committed Private Partner, Progresso Farms LLC, is investing $20 million in the project, and they expect to create and retain 72 jobs. CERB funds are matched by $1.25 million in local resources."
This is one of three projects being funded in this latest round of development, the other projects are in Snohomish and Spokane Counties.
For the last few years, Othello City officials have been working on a lot of expansion at the port, based on county growth projections.
