State Revokes License for Nurse Convicted of Child Porn
Not only will this man spend 11 years in prison on child porn charges, he will never work in the medical field again.
Today the Washington State Department of Health revoked the license of Darrin L. Ruddell. He was convicted in June of possession of more than 1,400 images of child porn and rape, and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. It's believed the revocation is considered permanent.
The 47-year-old man was first brought to the attention of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task force in 2015, tips and leads led officials to investigate him. That led to his eventual conviction. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and upon release from prison will face 30 years of legal supervision.
Ruddell, who worked as an RN in the Kadlec Medical System, also was found to have syringes full of date rape drugs. Although his revocation is only for Washington state, most other states will refuse to issue credentials for someone who's been convicted of such a crime, meaning his career in the medical field is pretty much over.
