The search for a stolen vehicle suspect continues in North Franklin County
THEFT, HIT-AND-RUN KEEP DEPUTIES BUSY
Two incidents kept Deputies busy Sunday afternoon.
First, in Connell, a victim left their vehicle running at a Connell gas station, and discovered somebody had driven off with it. However, a short time later, the Toyota SUV was spotted traveling on Road 170 near Basin City. Deputies stopped it and the driver gave up without incident.
SECOND INCIDENT A LOT MORE 'ACTIVE'
About an hour after the Connell theft, near Taylor Flats and Dogwood Road north of Pasco, dispatch notified Deputies that a vehicle had been spotted with plates matching those of a stolen vehicle. An officer was going to pull it over because it was speeding, the plates matched the stolen vehicle.
But when a Deputy attempted to pull them over, they sped off at a high rate of speed. The Officer terminated the pursuit because of road conditions and safety factors. Then a short time later, Pasco Police informed the Sheriff's Department that suspect vehicle had been involved in a hit-and-run crash near 9th Ave. in town.
However, the driver fled the scene and the search continues.
