Authorities still piecing together the puzzle, after a vehicle reported stolen from Kennewick was found on fire in West Richland.

Police and fire crews responded around 2am to a report of the vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the 6500 block of Meyers Road.

The vehicle was a total loss, and police learned it had been reported being stolen from Kennewick earlier the night before. It's unfortunate, but over the last 18 months, the growing trend with auto theft has been if the suspects don't want to 'keep' the vehicle or it's served it's purpose they try to destroy evidence by torching it.

Anyone who may have information, or might have seen it prior to the fire or at beginning stages is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
