Two men had to be rescued when a storm caused high winds and 6 foot white caps on the Columbia River caused their boat to capsize.

The men got into trouble during the storm upriver from Crowe Butte Park near Boardman. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office got a call that a Sea Ray was going down and men needed to be rescued, according to reports.

The Boardman police chief took his own boat on the water to save the men and the Coast Guard was alerted with an air ambulance ready if they needed it.

The men were found standing on top of their capsized boat around 1 pm.

Both men, Wyatt Hayden of Pilot Rock and Wyatt Morris of Adams, were not injured and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
