Street Closed, KHS On Lockdown After Crew Hits Gas Line

According to Kennewick police, no one has been injured, and the area is closed off as a precaution.

Sometime just before 9am, a construction crew working on part of the new Kennewick High School building construction ruptured a Cascade Natural Gas line. Dayton street is closed, as of 9am, as a precaution.

Kennewick police and fire say students are safe as long as they remain in the buildings, so the school is on a non-threat lockdown.  No word yet on how long it will take to repair the line.
