The history of the Yakima River flooding spans many decades, but the 1948 flood that included the Columbia River was one of the biggest. This picture is from 6-7 years ago, from Benton County Emergency Services.
I spent the weekend in Suncadia located near Roslin Washington and was amazed how quickly the snow was melting over the weekend...the West Valley in Yakima already had flooding over the weekend and guess what the massive snow melt is headed this way!
