Now that the petition has met the necessary threshold for signatures, what happens next?

No sooner had a Walla Walla Superior Court Judge ruled that a recall petition against Benton Sheriff Jerry Hatcher could continue, then the State Supreme Court agreed to what's called a rapid review.

The next step in the process would be to forward the information of an independent study of the department and all other findings to the County Prosecutor by way of the auditor, and the gathering of signatures to possibly force a citizens vote-recall election.
