Unfortunatel, like most area youth sports, the 2020 Kennewick Grid Kids season was washed away. But they're preparing for (conditions permitting) spring football.

USA Football has developed a phased approach for the return of youth football this year. The plan is based on phased reopening guidelines from the CDC.

When I saw this, the first thought that came to mind was, in a few years watch the continued decline of the Greater Spokane League (high school football). This decision WILL affect the high school programs for years to come.

We hear so much about football teams such as the New England Patriots, Alabama Crimson Tide, Bellevue High School (Washington state 3A) that consistently win year after year. But there's a youth football league group in Kennewick who've been nearly as successful.

This fall, a new youth football league will start play in the Tri-Cities.

It's not just college, NFL and high school football that's back -- the 'little' folks are hitting the fields, too.
