The Blitz is On! Coach Mike Leach to Teach Wazzu Warfare Class
The rumors are true, Washington State head football coach Mike Leach becomes the head of the class and will teach warfare strategy to students starting this Spring at the University, but the course will not be credited nor will a student's performance show up on their official transcript.
According to the Washington State University's Academic Outreach and Innovation office, the course is a nonacademic, extracurricular lecture series with a five-day application process for the coveted 40 seats starting this Tuesday on a first-come first-served basis.
The class is basically a mash up Coach Leach's Air Raid football strategy using fast guys to spread the field wide countering traditional defensive schemes and insurgent warfare tactics where strategy and skill must overcomes bigger and more high powered opponents. Joining Coach Leach to teach will be Michael Baumgartner, the current Spokane County Treasurer and a former state department specialist serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The series is four lectures in late March and early April with final will being held April 23, three days after the annual Crimson and Gray Spring scrimmage game, at the Spark: Innovation Hub on the Pullman campus which holds 300, but with heavy overflow expected, the event will be livestreamed on the internet.
