This Is What Happens When Excessive Speed Meets Ice-Snow

It happened around midday Friday, but now Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies have released some pictures from a car vs. semi crash that occurred due to icy roads.

No, we have not yet seen this yet in the Tri-Cities metro area, but this crash occurred north of Pasco at the intersection of Glade and Ironwood Roads.

Deputies say the sedan was approaching the intersection, heading east on Ironwood. However, as it approached the intersection with Glade Road North, the driver slid through the stop sign and was blasted by a semi-truck.

Deputies say excessive speed was the culprit, the driver was unable to stop due to icy roads. Although the driver was taken to a nearby hospital, they are OK.

Law enforcement officials remind drivers to SLOW DOWN, as the roads are usually icier than they appear.
