In the latest in what appears to be a growing trend, Franklin County Sheriff's report late last night a driver luckily escaped injury after falling asleep behind the wheel.

This sedan was driving on Highway 395 just South of Eltopia when it left the road, veered over the shoulder and rolled, landing on it's roof.

Fortunately, the driver was not injured. Sheriff's didn't say if more than one person was in the vehicle, but the cause of the accident was the driver fell asleep.

Authorities cannot stress enough this is becoming a growing cause of crashes in our area, don't drive tired.  Officials say the effects on your nervous system when exhausted are comparable to that when you are legally drunk. Worse yet, falling asleep could cause you to hit any number of objects or vehicles that could kill you.
