Unlike in the past, when the Americans have been road warriors at the beginning of the season, this coming hockey schedule will include a six game home stand beginning with the home opener September 22nd vs. Spokane through October 12th.

In the past, after the home opener, they might have a home game or two, but usually spent most of October traveling the highways of the WHL.

Also this season marks a departure for the WHL.  The teams will only play 68 games, instead of the traditional 72. They will still be split 34-home and 34-road.

They will wait until late October before heading out, they will have an 11-game road trip beginning October 20 until November 17th..nearly a month. And, they will be spending the rest of the offseason searching for a new coach, as Mike Williamson announced this week he is not returning for next season.
