Kennewick Horse Heaven Hills Park Bathrooms Heavily Damaged

In 2024 and 2025, the Heights Park in West Richland had to close their bathrooms after vandals struck.

Kennewick and other communities have invested heavily in upgrading parks and other facilities over the years.

Now, Kennewick Parks and Rec will have to spend more funds to fix bathrooms that were vandalized over the weekend of April 11-12.  Officials said vandals destroyed the facility at Horse Heaven Hills Park, located at 3106 S. Yelm, adjacent to Horse Heaven Hills Middle School.  Doors were torn off their hinges, and other items badly damaged.

Kennewick, Richland and Pasco have all had to lock restrooms at various times, due to vandalism activity.  Some citizens are unhappy that often they are closed at inopportune times, but it's out of necessity if vandalism increases.

Some parks do have regular daytime restroom hours, but others are locked especially during fall and winter.
