As we celebrate Veterans Day 2019, our nation is eternally grateful for the men and women who bravely served to protect the United States. You are encouraged to take time - this weekend and every day - to thank a veteran and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Recently, more than 80 Vietnam-era veterans and their families gathered at the VFW Post in Sunnyside for a special pinning ceremony. When they returned home from war, many of these soldiers did not receive the hero's welcome they deserved.

Now - 50 years later - they were all honored with a lapel pin and certificate as a small token of our nation's appreciation for their service. This was the 3rd Vietnam veteran pinning ceremony in Central Washington, and one more will be hosted in the Tri-Cities on December 14th. You can get included in the ceremony here.

Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wa) will be hosting his office's annual Veteran Service Fair on December 14th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Richland Red Lion.

The Veteran Service Fair is an opportunity for veterans from across the region to explore the resources available to them - from VA and health benefits, to counseling and employment opportunities.

Veterans and their families are invited to attend this free event, enjoy the VA Mobile Vet Center on-site counseling, submit their stories to the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project and participate in another Vietnam Veteran Pinning Ceremony.
