According to a new study utilizing digital online music data, WA state has a favorite Holiday or Christmas song.

The song is either loved or hated, not  a lot of middle ground

The study, performed by casino experts PlayUSA, took a look at Google search data between November of 2023 and November of 2024 (search volume) to see which of the 100 most popular Christmas  songs are being searched for in WA (and other states as well).

Play USA is a website that tracks the latest casino and related news, tools for casino players and related entertainment.

Their study turned up some interesting results. According to the study by way of Play USA:

"Researchers analyzed over 800 unique searches, including those for each song title and seven other popular terms, such as 'Holly Jolly Christmas lyrics' and 'Jingle Bell Rock chords.'

What did all this data reveal? What is the most 'popular' (searched for) Holiday song in WA?

It's Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You."

Coming in second and third in the study were a pair of songs recorded by Michael Buble', Jingle Bells and Silent Night.  Fourth was "Last Christmas" by WHAM and fifth was Brenda Lee's Rockin' Round the Christmas Tree.

Mariah Carey's song was also #1 nationally as well. So, the next time you see a Christmas meme on social media poking fun at the song, remember: she still gets a lot of royalty checks, and apparently a lot of folks do like the song.

And to this day, this song remains the most popular and hilarious Tri-City Americans Christmas video tune. See it below!
