Walla Walla Chamber Launches Local Vaccine Lottery
The state tried it, other entities have tried it, now it's the Walla Walla Chamber of Commerce's turn.
The Chamber says a number of area businesses have chipped in and are interested, and they've launched a $1,000 lottery to encourage the shots.
Chamber officials told KEPR-TV this was being done in a "fun and positive" way, and that 80 percent of the winnings will go towards those who get vaccinated in Sept. or October, 20 percent towards those who already have the shot.
According to Chamber information, what is called the early bird drawing will be held Oct.1st while the final draw will be Nov. 1st. The chamber has all the information on their website in case you're interested and live in the area.
Officials also decided to put together the lottery because they say vaccine clinics can be found around the Walla Walla are but they're not very full or well-attended.
