Walla Walla Schools Target Oct. 26 for Beginning of Hybrid Learning
Starting Oct. 26th Walla Walla students preschool-K-2nd grade will begin to return to class in what's called the AM/PM hybrid model.
Tuesday night (Oct 6) during the school board meeting, officials indicated they will start with a model that has students divided with a half day at school, then half day at home, five days a week.
The District says this AM/PM model has been met favorably by the CDC and other health officials. This differs from Kennewick and Finley, who are using an A/B hybrid. Half of each grade students will go Monday Tuesday in class, the other half Thursday/Friday. During Wednesdays and 'off days' students will continue online.
The information released by the WWSD did not indicate a specific starting or return date for the rest of the elementary or middle/HS students.
The board will discuss this matter more extensively at it's next meeting Oct. 20. Parents who have questions and input are encouraged to get their information to the board no later than Oct. 14. They can be submitted via email, and that address can be found by clicking here.
