Although he was on a bike, he led police on a lengthy chase before finally being apprehended.

Around 7:41AM Sunday, an officer on patrol observed a bike rider who blasted a red light at 10th and Washington, nearly being struck by a car. The officer recognized the rider as Austin Smith, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

After contacting the suspect, the officer had to give chase as Smith fled on his bike. He was seen again, then hid...again. But a citizen who happened to be in the area told officers he'd seen the suspect fleeing to a hiding place near East 8th Pl and South Date st.

He was finally located hiding in a nearby park and was taken into custody for warrants out of Franklin County. He's facing a multitude of charges now besides the warrants.
