When I was in my teens and wondering what I might do with my life, I wanted to be a police officer. Naturally, cop shows on TV made us all want to be cops, just like Top Gun in 1986 made Navy recruitments soar!

But later in life, I realized that what real cops go through would certainly not have been for me. And I can assure you that if I had known that new recruits had to go through training like this, I never would have considered it. Although I think when I was a teenager, pepper spray hadn't been invented yet LOL.

(Actually, as I am typing this, I just paused to Google it. It turns out chemical mace was developed in the 1960s. In the early 1970s, it was developed as an aerosol spray used by the FBI and contained the ingredients of hot peppers!)

So it turns out that yes, I probably would have had to have been pepper-sprayed as a new recruit (and later TAZED!). Well, they're still doing it today!

My wife carried pepper spray for many years...remember to replace your canister once per year! She's concealed carry these days, so don't mess with her...I sure don't!

Below is a list of the best pepper sprays in a video I found on YouTube. I love the idea of pepper spray for non-lethal protection. There are lots of sizes to fit any purse or glove box. We also like a giant can of bear spray. You know, just in case.
