Thursday afternoon, a bystander captured part of an altercation on video between a wanted suspect and Kennewick Police.

35-year-old Erik King had been sought on meth charges-delivery, and was located in a parking lot. The video shows he initially complied with commands to get on the ground, then tried to run.

He was subsequently Tasered, then was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries sustained in the fall after the Taser hit.  The video was taken by a citizen in the area. Police also explained in their information release that contacting him at his car presented less danger than trying to execute a traffic stop, and the Taser allowed officers a less lethal way to stop him and control the situation.

King is the one wearing the bright blue shirt.
