Gray whales breed off the coast of Mexico and feed off the coast of Alaska. Getting from here to there during their annual migration can make for some excellent whale watching off the Oregon coast. Whale watching tours are available but since there are thousands of the giant critters migrating, many can be seen from the shore. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Dept. has dubbed March 23rd through the 31st, 2019 Spring Whale Watching Week. Several informative links are more on the story from The Oregonian below.
