When Getting High in Your Car, Just Don’t Get Pulled Over

Kennewick police conducting a traffic stop Thursday got an extra bonus, when one of the occupants were not only wanted on a warrant, but two others had violations as well. And to boot, three of the four were under 21 and flying high on pot.

Near 7th and Gum Streets, the car was pulled over shortly before 2pm for a traffic violations. Upon arrival, the officer noticed a strong pot smell coming from inside. Remarkably, the driver was not found to be impaired, but two of his under 21 riders were arrested for possession and other drug charges. Sergio Abaca and Hector Flores were arrested.

The juvenile wanted on a warrant was also taken into custody. Police also found pipes, scales and other drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
