Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies say the incident occurred sometime between late last night and early this morning (Sunday into Monday 9-21).

Workers at the WIC (Women, Infants, Children State Nutrition State Program) office in Basin City arrived to find their office had been destroyed by an errant driver.

The vehicle slammed through the front door and window, then was able to back out and leave. Officials didn't say if they found any initial evidence left behind by the vehicle.

Deputies say the current office will have to be closed until repairs are made, but arrangements are being made so area clients can still receive services. Anyone who may need WIC in the Basin City  area can call 509-269-4115 or 509-430-5895.

The office is located on R-170 in Basin City near the intersection with Baillie Road, no word on how long it will take to repair the damage.

Anyone who may have information about this is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.
