Who Lit a Fire Near Pasco Cross County Course? Cops Wanna Know!
Pasco police continue to investigate and are looking for help in identifying who set a fire near the Pasco Big Cross area near Road 36, not far from Meadow Beauty and homes.
At 1:15am Tuesday morning, they got a call about a rapidly spreading fire at the location, which includes the much used H.S. cross country course, and other recreational activities near Road 36. It's not far from a housing development too.
Before fire crews got it under control and extinguished it, the fire burned an area about the size of a football field, said police. They found a box of wooden stick matches at the scene. Witnesses told police a set of car taillights were seen leaving the fire, headed north on Road 36 just after it began, and Pasco fire crews at nearby Airport Station 82 could see the fire from the airport just prior to responding.
Anyone who might have any information is urged to call (509)-545-3421. All leads can be confidential about this case, which is officially being treated as arson.
