Why Washingtonians Don’t Use Turn Signals, It’s the LAW!
Turn Signal...according to the dictionary is a flashing light on a vehicle to show that it is about to change lanes or turn.
Question. How many times have you been in traffic and a vehicle near you is attempting to change lanes, NOT using the TURN Signal? It's a common courtesy, right? Yet, many people do NOT use their turn signals. This definitely ruffles my feathers!
And, the LAW requires that you make a turn with your turn signal.
Chris ThorsonA driving instructor on WikiHow.com advises that when planning to make a turn, you need to give drivers plenty of notice BEFORE actually making the turn. By law, you are required to start signaling 100 feet in advance of the actual turn. It may sound like too much, but it's best to use your signal about a half-block before the turn. Better too much than too little and too late.
