Kennewick woman rams Deputy's cruiser with stolen car
A 36-year-old woman is now behind bars after being arrested Tuesday night. Franklin County Sheriff Jim Raymond released information about Brittney Ann Emineth, who was arrested after her wild incident.
Late Tuesday night, Franklin County Sgt. Travis Mahler was on patrol near Road 92 and Pooler Street when he spotted a vehicle that Sheriff Raymond said was "skulking" in the area.
When Sgt. Mahler tried to pull the car over, Emineth, who was behind the wheel, rammed his patrol cruiser, then sped off. The plates came back on the 1997 Honda as having been stolen out of Pasco on April 18th (according to Franklin County) which would mean it was missing nearly a year.
The Sgt. terminated the pursuit when Emineth crossed over the river and entered Benton County, she apparently lost control of the car and finally stopped, or crashed, off Highway 240 near the Vernita Bridge north of Richland.
She was arrested by WSP, Richland West Richland officers who took up the pursuit, and now she is in the Benton County jail.
According to Sheriff Raymond, the cost to repair the patrol cruiser will be at least $4,000. Sadly, the car was significantly damaged in the incident.
