It's tied to the renovation of Downtown and East Kennewick, and the Kennewick City Council is considering a trial program with the widely used Lime Electric Scooter company.

They're found all over parts of Seattle and Portland, the premise is, you 'find' one using the app, unlock it using the app, and scoot away. You pay by the minute. When you're done you lock it up where you want and somebody else uses it.

Some downtown businesses are not in favor of having scooters left in front of their stores, Kennewick officials say some cities it's worked, others adopted it and then rescinded because it didn't go well. The city continues to gather data and information about the idea of putting the lime green electric scooters in certain areas.
