Microsoft has earned the respect and adoration of gamers worldwide after announcing their affordable Adaptive Controller. This comes on the heels of Global Accessibility Awareness day. The project was a joint effort between Microsoft and organizations like The Cerebral Palsy Foundation, The AbleGamers Charity and more.

The controller will retail for $99, and comes equipped with 3.5mm headphone jacks and brackets for add-ons to further improve functionality for players with varying disabilities.

Many people speculate that this will allow gamers to plug in and use their own accessories they already use for day-to-day activities. Microsoft will also retail additional accessories for adaptive play-ability. Further speculation suggests that the affordable price-point will allow game developers and third-parties to develop more accessories and game play features.
