Four Campbellsville, Kentucky firefighters are in the hospital after a charitable event went tragically wrong.

The four men were assisting in an Ice Bucket Challenge, in which people videotape themselves dumping ice water over their heads, then challenge others to do the same and donate to help fight ALS.

The firefighters were operating a boom ladder truck, helping to dump water, when it came in contact with some power lines.   Several of the men suffered, according to NW Cable News, significant burns and injuries.    Other firefighters were treated for shock after coming to their rescue.  Despite the severity of some of the injuries, they are expected to recover, but it will take some time, say hospital officials.

Electrical burns are particularly difficult to treat, and cause extensive trauma to the victims.
