Michelle Obama has never been compared to the numerous First Ladies who have occupied the White House in the past:  Laura, Bush,  Jackie O,  Lady Bird Johnson, and others who were known for quiet toughness, but also grace, charm, and kindness.

No,  Michelle Obama has quickly established herself to be just like her husband, a Chicago-style street fighter, who does not seem to grasp what it means to be the spouse of the leader of the free world.  She began her assault on America by uttering the infamous phrase 'for the first time in my life I am proud of my country' following her husband's election;  Now, she's at it again.  A new campaign strategy has surfaced with Ms. Obama.  This last weekend she jetted down to Davis Island, Floria, to mingle with the 1%, the people Occupy Wall Street, and apparently her husband, despises.  She launched into a spirited tirade against Republican leadership, and virtually berated the "1% er's" in attendance to support her husband.   It really is ironic:  Obama spends speech after speech bashing rich Americans, corporations, continually uttering the line "pay their fair share..."  yet his wife expects these same people to support her husband's re-election campaign.  It's as if she expects wealthy people to morally support their efforts to redistribute wealth.    She has broken with over 100 years of tradition, and turned the First Ladyship into a personal pulpit, crusading for her own causes and ideals.  While it's NOT unusual for a First Lady to champion a cause (The Betty Ford Center comes to mind),  Michelle Obama has approached this drive with a sledgehammer,  whether it's pressuring Americans to change their eating habits by trying to get 'fats, sugars, candy' etc banned from restaurants and schools, or bludgeioning  rich Americans to support the Obama's self-appointed moral crusade, she is coming off as neither gracious, nor worthy of comparison to great First Ladies of the past.  She has tried to portray herself, as has Obama, as a champion of the 'little people' but in reality, she is an angry, relentless crusader who seeks personal gain at the expense of nothing...this was pointed out as far back as 2008-2009 by the British press.
