Just a few short days before President Obama's upcoming visit to Chesterfield Virginia, thieves stole the truck containing all the equipment needed for his press conference/speech...including...the teleprompter.

The truck was parked outside of the Virginia Center Commons Courtyard by Marriot in advance Obama's upcoming visit. Inside were $200,000 worth of PA equipment, the platform podium setup where the President would stand, several presidential seals, and the infamous teleprompter.  The truck is believed to have been recovered in a Holiday Inn Express parking lot, and according to hotel workers, the area where the truck was found was taped off, and "lots of guys in suits" running around as well. Those would be the Feds.  They have not officially said if the theives kept any of the equipment, or if the van itself was recovered but empty.  An official from the Defense Information Systems Agency (never heard of them) said they take the theft very seriously and a formal investigation is coming.   You can bet the DISA is worried-how will the Prez be able to address the crowd without Prompter buddy?
