On the heels of Zuccotti Park being swept clean (literally) of Occupy Wall Street, and with the city fighting a judge's order to allow the protestors back into the area,  Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway dropped a bombshell.

According to reports from the NYPD,  after searching through the OWS "equipment" taken from the park area, numerous devices that could be used as weapons were found, including carboard tubes with metal pipes inside, hypodermic needles, knives and mace.  Many of the needles were "modified" in such a way to make them more like a knife.   Holloway said prior to the Occupy movement, there was little criminal activity in the park;  since Occupy, since then 73 misdemeanor and felony complaints and 50 arrests--including several people charged with assault and at least three documented rapes.
