“Old” Light Bulbs To Get More Expensive After Jan.1

In yet another roundabout way to force American consumers to embrace enviornmental whackos wishes, our old style light bulbs have to become more “efficient” starting in 2012.

Incandescent, or old style light bulbs, will undergo new stricter Federal efficiency standards beginning in January 2012.   GOP opposition to the standards was fierce, but the standards will go in anyway.  Supporters say they are not banning the older, more popular bulbs, but critics say the new standards will cause the price to go up.   They say it’s another way of restricting the choices Americans have, by playing financial blackmail.  The enviornmental click doesn’t have to get a “ban” on bulbs; they just get the Feds to make them so expensive with cumbersome restrictions that people will be financially forced to purchase the alternative.
