OWS Begging For Cold Weather Donations

In a move that will probably not elicit much sympathy from the majority of Americans, Occupy Wall Street is trying to deal with an entity that is neither political, nor economic: Mother Nature.

NYC saw an October 29th snowfall record of 2.9 inches, part of the rare pre Halloween storms that raged across the Northeast. dumping snow, freezing rain and slush on the OWS protestors.  An urgent post on the OWS website is begging for cold weather survival gear, as well as cots to get them off the ground.  Reportedly the OWS people have been getting survival tips from homeless people in the area.  OWS is also looking for heat supplying sources after police removed six of their gas powered generators over the weekend, saying the large two wheeled trailer devices were a safety hazard.  OWS supporters and officials claim the police and opponents were just trying to get at their power source.  Fire officials said the units posed a significant fire hazard.
