Pharmacutical giant Pfizer says they are recalling at least a million oral contraceptive packs of birth control pills because they might not be strong enough to work.

The recall affected 14 lots of Lo/Ovral-28 tablets and 14 lots of Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets.  According to Pfizer, the affected pills might not be strong enough to prevent pregnancies.  Experts say if the recall is successful, and the number of people who actually get pregnant after taking the drug is tiny,  Pfizer could emerge relatively unscathed.   However, the worst case scenario would be hundreds or thousands of unintended pregnancies-enough to trigger a class-action lawsuit.  Experts say such an occurance could result in a lawsuit(s) big enough to put Pfizer out of business, although most do not believe that is likely.  The success rate of birth control pills is supposed to be 99.8 percent according to leading experts.  There are no other health risks associated with the drug, said Pfizer in a statement.  Fox News Health experts said this was one of the largest birth control recalls in history.
