Victim and Suspect Both Jailed Over Moses Lake Stolen Car, Gun Incident
Moses Lake Police ended up arresting the suspect and their victim, bizarre theft case.
Police Responded to Stolen Vehicle Report, and Illegal Firearm
The incident occurred Thursday, August 6, but now MLPD has released the information.
That morning, Police were notified that a man who had given a ride to a woman had stopped at the Love's Truck Stop in Moses Lake, and briefly went inside. At that point the man said the female passenger stole his car.

The call went out, and an Officer in the 2700 block of Broadway spotted the stolen car and pulled it over. The woman inside, 40-year-old Sara Gallagher of Moses Lake, was arrested to the theft.
Then It Got Interesting
When the car was recovered, Officers found a HiPoint 9 MM Pistol in the driver's door pocket. It belonged to the victim, identified as 28-year-old Daniel Littlejohn of Ephrata.
Turns out, he's not legally allowed to possess any firearms, so he was also arrested.
Both were booked into the Grant County Jail, Gallagher on vehicle and firearm theft, and Littlejohn on the illegal weapons charge. The gun was actually in Littlejohn's name.
As for the question of how Littlejohn obtained the weapon, investigators said it was likely acquired some time ago, and between then and now, something happened that made it illegal for him to possess it.
