So much buzz has been surrounding the pilot plan starting soon in Washington state, where some 2,800 drivers will test out a DOT plan to charge motorists by the mile, instead of charging them a gas tax.
Gov. Inslee's office announced Friday the Trump Administration has granted a disaster declaration for 13 Washington state counties, due to the damage caused by the harsh winter, excessive snow, followed by rain, melting runoff and other other factors that caused hundreds of millions in damages.
Gov. Inslee's declaration means state agencies can provide any and all possible assistance, logistical and financial, to help the counties repair roads and other infrastructure damaged by flooding, snow, ice and the harsh winter.
Some farmers North of Pasco are voicing frustration over what they believe are confusing or even misguided road closures in the wake of one of some of the worst winter weather damage seen in years. Roads in the county are like this everywhere, Benton County as well.
