A new study has found that Americans wasted $121 billion in gas in 2011, because of traffic. We also sat in our cars an extra 5.5 billion hours that year because of traffic. And the average American wasted an average of $818 in 2011 because of – you guessed it – traffic.
A power outage Friday morning in northern Richland knocked out several traffic lights, including the one at the intersection of Aaron Drive and State Route 240. While city crews had all lights repaired by 11 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation (WDOT) said everyone was off work and the light would be fixed Monday.
Hundreds of residents in Richland and dozens of drivers on George Washington Way were inconvenienced Friday morning by a power outage. Officer David Clark of the Richland Police Department said something damaged power lines near the intersection of GW Way and McMurray Street. That cut power along most of GW Way.
Northbound lanes on the Blue Bridge are closed this morning for repairs and will be through early Nov. 5. Traffic is being directed onto Columbia Drive and then the Cable Bridge. That means in the mornings Columbia Drive and Gum Street are PACKED with cars and semi-trucks trying to get to Pasco
