The Seattle Thunderbirds probably groan when they roll up to the Toyota Center, and for good reason.

With last night's 7-1 thumping at the Hands of the Americans, Seattle is now 0-4 vs Tri City at Toyota, and 0-7 this season overall.  The Thunderbirds have now not won on Toyota Center ice in their last 16 trips, one of the longest road losing streaks to a single team in the Western Hockey League. Tyler Schmidt opened the scoring 3:39 into the first period with the first of two goals on his way to his second career multi goal game (not bad for a defenseman!) and when the carnage was done, he, Adam Hughesman and Justin Feser had tallied twice, along with a goal from Zachary Yuen.  Seattle goaltender Calvin Pickard faced 52 shots, while undermanned Seattle managed only 18 against Drew Owsley, and his third period replacement, Chris Driedger.  The T-Birds recently completed a "fire sale" trade, jettisoning several key players for future draft picks and also have several veterans on the injured list.   The Americans next game is Friday when the Kamloops Blazers come to town.  Check the Newstalk Newsmembers Store, for your tickets.
