First, Justin Feser broke the Iron Man record for most-consecutive games played. Now the club has tied another big one!

With the Tri-City Americans 6-4 win over Kootenay last Friday, the Americans have now done something only a handful of other teams in the entire history of the Western Hockey League have ever accomplished. The Americans have now won at least 40 games in 7 consecutive seasons. Prior to this season, The Americans were tied with several clubs at six, but now it's down to three. The only teams to win at least 40 games 7 seasons in a row are :

  • Regina Pats (1979-1986)
  • Kamloops Blazers (1989-1996)
  • Tri-City Americans (2006-2013)

It's interesting to note, no team has ever won 40 games or more in eight straight campaigns. Given the talent and youth of the Americans' roster, it's very possible the Americans could be setting an all-time record next year.

While we're talking about records, what other two records do the Americans hold? And why are they very unlikely to ever be broken? Check in here tomorrow to find out!
