A Bellingham, Washington, man with a whale-watching business has a life-sized orca he uses for marketing. Astoria, Oregon, is hiring it to come bob around off its coast. Here's why:

Astoria has a sea lion problem. They've taken over all the docks. They've tried shocking the animals, with little effect. They don't want to put up fences because sea lions are strong and will probably knock them down.

The orca will hopefully act as a scarecrow!

Sea lions may be too smart for this trick, but it's worth a try, Astoria officials say.
